Claudio Guglieri - mentor of the contest
Claudio Guglieri is a Designer & Creative Director based in Seattle. Claudio is the Design Director at Microsoft Groove and Movies & TV, former CD at Elephant working for Apple, and Design Director at Fantasy Interactive.
He's a regular design speaker and a casual writer and will honor us with his presence as the mentor of this edition of KIKK Belfius Awards.
BEATRICE de mahieu
Béatrice de Mahieu is a Belgian entrepreneur and strategy consultant. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to participate in the development and growth strategy of major telecommunication and media companies. After several years at Microsoft as Consumer Marketing Lead, she decided to focus her career on coaching and mentoring start-ups in their investment, growth and strategy, and also joined one of the major investment partners and funds in Belgium as an investment expert and member of the board. In 2013 she co-created the Pimento Map, a unique, fast, easy and accurate methodology to validate and evaluate the chances of success of a business model, together with Cédric Donck and Pierre-Alexandre Losson. In 2014, she co-founded the Virtuology Academy, an academy located at CoStation Brussels and dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship, where she acts as General Manager. Furthermore, she is engaged in all matters related to female entrepreneurship.
Pierre Rion is a serial entrepreneur. He created his first IT startup (Dedrion) whilst completing military service. Co-founder of the IRIS Group, which he co-directed until 2001, he has been working as a Business Angel since 1993 to galvanize Wallonia's economy. He has especially contributed to the launch of Fonds E-Capital, D-Cinex, Pairi Daiza and over a dozen other Walloon SMEs.
Pierre Rion chairs the Wallonia Digital Council, created as part of the Marshall 4.0 Plan, as well as the Cercle de Wallonie, Belrobotics and Cluepoints. He sits on the board of various other Belgian companies, including CPH Banque, Akkanto and OneLife, and is Vice-President of the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency.
Christophe Demain has been a Chief Investment Officer at Belfius Insurance since 2013. He is passionate
about technology and innovation, so it was only natural for him to become a member of the investment
committee of W.ING (Wallonia INnovation and Growth), an investment fund managed by the S.R.I.W.
(the Walloon Regional Investment Company) specialized in financing digital start-ups.
Stephanie Fellen is the founder and CEO of Made & More, a sustainable fashion brand online. After graduating from HEC-ULg as business engineer she started her career in a multinational and worked internationally for 4 years. She decided to quit and launch a startup as she believes in sustainable entrepreneurship. She raised funds for the startup via public funds, private angels and a crowdfunding and is leading the expansion of Made & More to expand in Europe.
Philippe Dedobbeleer not only works together with his enthusiastic team. Co-operation is also the connecting thread throughout the Smart Belgium story, the Belfius vision of the future that wants to have innovative companies and start-ups, local authorities, intermunicipal utility companies, schools and care centres combine forces, in a joint effort to provide cut-and-dried answers and fundamental solutions to our society’s challenges.
Communication Manager at the Agence du Numérique, André Blavier is one of the experts who participated in the preparation and the launch of Digital Wallonia, the Digital Strategy of the Walloon Government. Within the framework of this strategy, he is in charge of the development of the digital sector. He is also Affiliate Professor in Digital Business at HEC-Liege, Management School of the University of Liege, and columnist at La Première Radio on the topic of the digital transformation.
Guy Vanpaesschen is Project Manager North America and Digital Expert at the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency. For 16 years, he works to promote our Walloon digital companies in the United States and Canada through the trade shows and economical missions he organizes for the Agency (NAB Show, GDC Show, CES Show, Digital week in Quebec…).
For more than 2 years, as the new Digital Expert at the Agency, he is a dynamic member of Digital Wallonia, the Digital Strategy of Wallonia, and supports strongly the internationalization of the Walloon digital sector. He also manages the new network “Digital Wallonia International” based in San Francisco, Barcelona, Shenzhen, Paris, Montréal and Berlin.
Fan of innovation, start-up and music, Gérôme likes working in a collaborative way to develop entrepreneurial ecosystems. He is LeanSquare’s COO, a Public/Private investment fund and start-up accelerator. He is also GOTORO’s co-founder, a NGO which organizes each year, since 2012, more than 50 events to support entrepreneurship ecosystems (TEDxLiège, Startup weekend Liège, HiveMade, No Fail No Gain, Pecha Kucha Liège, Morning breaker, Creative Mornings Liège, etc.).
Finally, he has co-founded Wallifornia MusicTech, with KIKK Festival, Theâtre de Liège and Urban Music Festival Les Ardentes. The objective of this recurrent program is to make Belgium an international reference MusicTech hub.
By his own admission, Gilles is a “hyperactive, feverish entrepreneur”. Passionate about all things design and digital, he is the co-founder of the KIKK, which organises the International Digital Festival each year in Namur, Belgium. He also manage an agency : Dogstudio. An activist who fights in favour of new uses, alternative methods of management and transdisciplinarity, nowadays he is committed to the creative hub project TRAKK, whose aim is to facilitate the emergence of creative projects out on the ground.
