Jules Ehrhardt - Mentor of the contest
Jules Ehrhardt is partner and co-owner at digital design studio ustwo. He is a digital veteran of over a decade beginning in web before having his passion for digital reignited by mobile and emerging platforms. Ustwo created the game Monument valley : an illusory adventure of impossible architecture and forgiveness. Ustwo is a global digital design studio, home to more than 300 of the industry's leading designers, developers, and strategists.
D.S. in agronomical sciences and biological engineering from the University of Liège, Dorothée Goffin has a multidisciplinary scientific experience. Passionate scientist craving for new knowledge and experience, she early realized the importance of “thinking out of the box”, exploring other fields and considering societal issues. Addicted to innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship, she is the co-founder and director of the Smart Gastronomy Lab, the first Living Lab in Wallonia, which is a use, co-creation and prototyping multidisciplinary lab for food, technologic and gastronomic innovation.
Pierre Rion is a serial entrepreneur. He created his first IT startup (Dedrion) whilst completing military service. Co-founder of the IRIS Group, which he co-directed until 2001, he has been working as a Business Angel since 1993 to galvanize Wallonia's economy. He has especially contributed to the launch of Fonds E-Capital, D-Cinex, Pairi Daiza and over a dozen other Walloon SMEs.
Pierre Rion chairs the Wallonia Digital Council, created as part of the Marshall 4.0 Plan, as well as the Cercle de Wallonie, Belrobotics and Cluepoints. He sits on the board of various other Belgian companies, including CPH Banque, Akkanto and OneLife, and is Vice-President of the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency.
New technologies and Innovation enthusiast, Valentin joined EnCo in the early days of the EnCo project at Proximus to evangelize and support the developer’s community. With a background in politics, communication and videogames, he founded and produced for 3 years the television show La Semaine du Jeu Video on Belgian national tv RTBF and has been consultant for many other medias when videogames where diabolized.
Philippe Dedobbeleer not only works together with his enthusiastic team. Co-operation is also the connecting thread throughout the Smart Belgium story, the Belfius vision of the future that wants to have innovative companies and start-ups, local authorities, intermunicipal utility companies, schools and care centres combine forces, in a joint effort to provide cut-and-dried answers and fundamental solutions to our society’s challenges.
Communication Manager at the Agence du Numérique, André Blavier is one of the experts who participated in the preparation and the launch of Digital Wallonia, the Digital Strategy of the Walloon Government. Within the framework of this strategy, he is in charge of the development of the digital sector. He is also Affiliate Professor in Digital Business at HEC-Liege, Management School of the University of Liege, and columnist at La Première Radio on the topic of the digital transformation.
Vincent defines himself as a Slasher, some kind of Jack-of-All-Trades, incredibly passionate about many different things. Vincent started his career as a Full-Stack Engineer, but slowly took on product-oriented roles. He co-founded two companies in Belgium: a agency called 1MD and a disruptive SEO company called WooRank. In Silicon Valley, he worked for early-stage startups like Storify and Instaply and had a great influence on both companies growth and success.
David Valentiny is director of Creative Wallonia Engine, the walloon agency dedicated to the Creative Economy. The agency puts in place startup and innovation accelerators, education disruptive programs and major events in Wallonia. David's background is energy engineering. After scientific research, David has contributed to the emergence of creative projects in Wallonia: NEST'up, a startup accelerator; ID CAMPUS, a transdisciplinary platform across the University of Liège dedicated to creative methods and training; and now Creative Wallonia Engine. Besides, David is co-founder of a 3D mapping company and participates to performing art events.
By his own admission, Gilles is a “hyperactive, feverish entrepreneur”. Passionate about all things design and digital, he is the co-founder of the KIKK, which organises the International Digital Festival each year in Namur, Belgium. He also manage an agency : Dogstudio. An activist who fights in favour of new uses, alternative methods of management and transdisciplinarity, nowadays he is committed to the creative hub project TRAKK, whose aim is to facilitate the emergence of creative projects out on the ground.
